Jagenberg Converting Solutions GmbH acquires majority interest in WDB Systemtechnik GmbH

Jagenberg Converting Solutions GmbH has acquired a majority stake in WDB Systemtechnik GmbH.

With its Industrial Solutions division, the Jagenberg Group focuses on machines and systems, automation and control technology, and digital solutions for processing web-shaped materials such as films or paper. Within the Jagenberg Group, Jagenberg Converting Solutions GmbH offers turnkey solutions from a single source as a reliable, competent and innovative partner. The company bundles the competencies and many years of experience of more than 500 employees from Jagenberg Group companies and supplements these with supplies and services from strategic partners as required.

WDB Systemtechnik GmbH is an owner-managed, medium-sized company with approx. 20 employees and is located in Enger (near Herford - NRW) since 1995. The focus of the company's activities is on mechanical and plant engineering. The company manufactures machines for the paper, film and printing industry as well as for the packaging industry. The core machine parts are manufactured and assembled in the company's own mechanical production facility. This enables individual machine concepts in close cooperation with customers, with a consistent focus on environmentally friendly and resource-saving technologies.

In the future, Jörg Wieger as well as Kai Schmedding will remain active as co-shareholders and managing directors and will be actively involved in the joint strategy of the Jagenberg Group.

"We are convinced that the investment in WDB Systemtechnik GmbH will ensure the expansion of the Jagenberg Converting Solutions activities for manufacturing of coating and decor printing systems and will strengthen our market position in this area," says Dr. Erich Bröker, CEO Jagenberg Group. "The high level of expertise of WDB Systemtechnik GmbH in process engineering and plant integration offers the opportunity to jointly further expand our range of services in the coating and decor printing sector."

Guido Lebbing, Managing Director of Jagenberg Converting Solutions GmbH, added: "We believe we have found the perfect partner in WDB, as the company brings its experience in special machines to the decor market and will support us as a component supplier of high-quality and innovative printing and coating units. We look forward to working with WDB and the team in Enger."

Jörg Wieger sees considerable growth potential in Jagenberg's participation and emphasizes," The strategic merger enables us to pool our expertise and resources and thus jointly manufacture high-quality machines and systems for the coating and decor printing industry. We will continue to push and expand our strength in special machine construction with individual solutions for our customers, especially in the area of retrofitting and plant expansions.

The transaction is still formally subject to the approval of the usual supervisory bodies.
